Last year, our planning application to transform the empty former offices at Network House was approved by Dacorum Council.
The approval of these plans means we now have planning permission to make good use of this brownfield site to provide a variety of 65 new homes, 69 retirement living apartments, 31,000 sq ft of office space, connectivity improvements and new green landscaping.
However, time has passed since our original application was submitted. The big change we have seen is that new working patterns since COVID have seen a steep decline in the demand for office space.
As a result, we are seeking to submit a new planning application to Dacorum that seeks to fine-tune our existing planning permission.
You can view the existing planning permission for Network House on Dacorum Council’s Planning Portal here.
Why we need to regenerate Network House
By making the most of empty brownfield sites, like Network House, Dacorum Council can reduce the pressure on its Green Belt to provide new homes.
Vacant derelict sites like Network House all too often attract anti-social behaviour. Regeneration will address this potential problem.
Instead of leaving it derelict, we should make use of this site to help address the housing crisis.
At a time when Rightmove shows the average house price in Apsley last year was over £500,000, our plan will increase local housing choice and help local people to get onto the housing ladder.
New landscaping and tree planting will turn an eyesore into an attractive public realm and improve the setting of the Grand Union Canal.
Regenerating Network House will unlock funding to invest in local infrastructure, including roads, schools and health services
